PHITEX participants visit Camarines Sur
With the aim to increase tourist arrivals in the Philippines, the Department of Tourism (DOT) through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) invited 20 international buyers from all over the country to participate in the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX), the biggest government organized travel trade event in the country.

A 2-day table top business exchange was the highlight of the PHITEX, where local sellers were invited to present their tourism products and services. Following the event, participants had an opportunity to experience what the country could offer by choosing among the 11 modules of PHITEX for the different tourist destinations.

On their PHITEX post event tours, one of their destinations is the Bicol region, particularly the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, and Camarines Sur for a four-day visit. On October 23, 2019, a warm welcome through a cultural presentation was held at the Naga Airport as the participants arrived in Camarines Sur.

The international buyers experienced a heritage tour at the two symbolic churches in Naga City namely, the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. A sumptuous lunch was also served to them featuring the Bicolano cuisines at the Que Pasa restaurant. Moreover, a facility tour was held introducing the Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC), the world-class watersports park for wakeboarding, wakeskating, and waterskiing at the heart of the Capitol Complex. Their tour ended with a cooking demonstration at Pecuaria Farm in Bula, Camarines Sur.

Truly, Camsur is one of the sources of pride of the country when it comes to world-class tourism.
