CamSur PDRRMC holds meeting on TS Jenny
The Camarines Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) held a meeting last 28 August 2019 on the effects of Tropical Storm Jenny and the preparation for the weather disturbance at the Provincial Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili, CamSur.

Over 60 representatives from various agencies, including the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, Philippine National Police, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Education, Bureau of Fire and Protection, National Food Authority, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Trade and Industry, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine Coast Guard, CASURECO, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, 9th Infantry Division of Philippine Army, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and communication groups, gathered to help ensure the protection of people from Typhoon Jenny. 

In the meeting, the PDRRMC also discussed the effects of TS Jenny in the province and presented updates on the Provincial Emergency Operation Center for Dengue. The Department of Health also warned against waterborne diseases, leptospirosis, malaria, and dengue this monsoon season.

 

Afterward, the PDRRMC discussed ways on how to protect communities from the said diseases. The council plans to intensify its information campaign on Dengue, conduct more Search and Destroy Operations against Dengue, and coordinate with public and private schools in destroying mosquito breeding places in their barangay.

Members of the PDRRMC were also advised to help inform people that they can avail of the Dengue Rapid Diagnostic Tests, for free, in district hospitals managed by the provincial government located in different municipalities, including Sipocot, Ragay, Libmanan, Siruma, Caramoan, Ocampo, Tinambac, Buhi, Bato, Garchitorena, and San Jose.
